Marie Lu was born in 1984 in Beijing. When she was five her
family moved to Texas in 1989. She attended the University of Southern
California and while she attended that college, she was an intern at NASA
working on public release images of the Hubble Space Scope. After college she
worked with Disney in their video game industries. She worked with concept art
and was also a flash developer while with Disney. Lu decided to look for more of an art career so she left
Disney after two years to become a lead artist with Hollywood Interactive
Group. She was a lead artist and often work with her art director choosing
other artists for mini games. She then was the creator of an online game called
Fuzz Academy, she was able to attract 80,000+ people in 9 months.
Lu is now a writer who is most famous for the Legend Series of books. She has developed concept at on many of the characters and her experience as a flash developer has even allowed her to make website games for Legend. She often classifies herself as a tomboy and currently lives in California with her boyfriend. She’s into videogames, sketching and writing. She is very enthusiastic in whatever she does and is also very confident. She says that she never imagined the Legend series to become this poplar and loves the fan base.
